Here at Williams Amusements, our biggest passion is retro arcade machines. From cocktail tables, to racing games, we have a range of games to suit any home or business. This includes some real classics including Donkey Kong, Street Fighter 2, and Frogger. One of our latest additions is Moon Patrol. This is a real delight to play, so let us walk you through it with this buyers guide to moon patrol.

The background

Moon Patrol is an arcade game released in 1982, with the now classic side scrolling game play. However, although this is something we have become accustomed to, it is actually Moon Patrol that is accredited with the introduction of parellex side scrolling for video games.

Our Moon Patrol machine is a brand new CNC upright cabinet featuring the original catchy tunes, and an upgraded 19 inch monitor. Whats not to love?

The gameplay

So how does Moon Patrol play? Well, the aim of the game is to control a moon buggy that is travelling across the surface of the moon, while avoiding a range of ground and air enemies and obstacles. The player is playing as a Luna City Police Officer, facing the “toughest thugs in the galaxy”.

As the player reaches new checkpoints, new stages in the game are activated. These new stages indicate a change in enemies and obstacles, some of which will need to be shot down, while others simply need to be avoided. There are 5 different stages, activated within the 26 different checkpoints.

The verdict

If you are a fan of retro gaming, and side scrolling games, Moon Patrol is a real winner. No two run-throughs will be the same, and this game will keep you on your toes right to the end. And with two unique courses, one of which a champion course, we are sure this game will keep you occupied for hours of fun.
