Moon Shuttle is a classic arcade fixed-shooter released in 1981 by the Japanese developer Nichibutsu (Nihon Bussan). It is often described as a more complex variation of first-generation space shooters like Space Invaders or Scramble, featuring unique alternating gameplay mechanics.

The game alternates between two distinct styles of stages as you progress:

Asteroid Belts (Odd Levels): You control a shuttle at the bottom of the screen that moves upwards through dense fields of asteroids. Unlike standard shooters, you must strategically shoot paths through the rocks or accelerate/decelerate to dodge them. Finishing these levels rewards you with a 500-point bonus.

Alien Combat (Even Levels): The perspective shifts, pinning your shuttle to the bottom for horizontal movement only. You must fend off swooping alien enemies like "Beetles," "Phasmidae," or bouncing "Brains" that shoot back at you.

As you advance, the asteroid belts start moving or closing in on the shuttle, and the alien enemies become faster and more aggressive.

It was originally released in Japan but was licensed to Taito for manufacture and distribution in the United States. The arcade machine was available in standard upright and cocktail cabinet styles.

This is an extremely rare Italian version of the game. The company was called Apple Time. A short lived venture who also made pinball. Its totally original. Yes has marks and scraps! It is over 40 years old!
